Gavin Rossdale ist ein britischer Musiker und Songwriter, der am 30. Oktober 1965 in London geboren wurde. Er ist vor allem als Frontmann der Rockband Bush bekannt. Als Gavin Rossdale elf Jahre alt war, ließen sich seine Eltern scheiden. Er wuchs daraufhin bei seinem Vater und einer Tante auf, während seine Mutter nach Kalifornien zog. Schon früh interessierte er sich für Musik und lernte zunächst Bass, bevor er zur Gitarre wechselte. Eine Verletzung beendete seine Ambitionen im Fußball, woraufhin er die Band Midnight gründete, die jedoch keinen großen Erfolg hatte. Nach einem Aufenthalt in Los Angeles, wo er als Produktionsassistent für Musikvideos arbeitete, kehrte Rossdale nach England zurück und formierte 1992 die Band Future Primitive, die sich bald in Bush umbenannte. Mit Bush landete Gavin Rossdale 1994 mit dem Album "Sixteen Stone" einen weltweiten Erfolg, auch wenn die Band in den USA anfangs als Nachahmer von Grunge-Bands wie Nirvana wahrgenommen wurde. In Europa dauerte es länger, bis sie mit Hits wie "Glycerine" und "Swallowed" Bekanntheit erlangten. Nach internen Streitigkeiten und einem Wechsel der Plattenfirma trennte sich die Band 2002, fand aber 2010 wieder zusammen. Nach der ersten Trennung von Bush steuerte Gavin Rossdale Songs zu Soundtracks wie "xXx" und "Terminator 3" bei. 2004 gründete er die Band Institute, die das Album "Distort Yourself" veröffentlichte. Ein Jahr später meldete sich Rossdale mit seinem Soloalbum "WANDERLUST" zurück und arbeitete mit Künstlern wie Apocalyptica und Carlos Santana zusammen. Neben seiner Musikkarriere war Gavin Rossdale auch in verschiedenen Filmen und Fernsehserien zu sehen, darunter "Zoolander" und "Constantine". Er war von 2002 bis 2015 mit der Sängerin Gwen Stefani verheiratet, mit der er drei Söhne hat.
