Robin Schulz ist ein deutscher DJ und Produzent, der am 28. April 1987 in Osnabrück geboren wurde. Schon in seiner Jugend spielte elektronische Musik eine wichtige Rolle, da sein Vater bereits in den 80er Jahren als DJ aktiv war. Mit 15 Jahren kaufte sich Schulz seinen ersten Plattenspieler. Seinen Durchbruch feierte Schulz im Jahr 2013 mit Remixen bekannter Hits. Besonders sein Remix von "Waves" des niederländischen Künstlers Mr. Probz erregte Aufmerksamkeit auf SoundCloud. Anfang 2014 wurde diese Version als Single veröffentlicht und erreichte in Deutschland, Österreich und der Schweiz Platz eins der Charts. Es folgte eine europaweite Veröffentlichung, die dem Lied auch in anderen Ländern wie Großbritannien, Schweden und Norwegen die Spitze der Charts bescherte. Am Ende des Jahres wurde der Remix für einen Grammy in der Kategorie "Beste Remix-Aufnahme" nominiert. Anfang 2014 veröffentlichte Schulz einen weiteren Remix auf SoundCloud, diesmal von "Prayer in C" des französischen Duos Lilly Wood & the Prick. Auch dieser Remix wurde ein Erfolg und erreichte im Juni 2014 Platz eins der Charts in den deutschsprachigen Ländern. "Prayer in C" wurde zum "Sommerhit 2014" gekürt und erhielt später in Deutschland eine Diamantene Schallplatte für eine Million verkaufte Einheiten. Im September 2014 veröffentlichte Schulz einen Remix von Alligatoahs "Willst du" und seine erste Eigenkomposition "Sun Goes Down" in Zusammenarbeit mit Jasmine Thompson. Kurz darauf erschien sein Debütalbum "Prayer". In den folgenden Jahren veröffentlichte Schulz weitere erfolgreiche Singles wie "Headlights" und "Sugar". Sein zweites Studioalbum "Sugar" erschien im September 2015 und konnte den Erfolg des Vorgängers noch übertreffen. Schulz arbeitete mit verschiedenen Künstlern zusammen, darunter Akon ("Heatwave"), David Guetta und Cheat Codes ("Shed a Light"). Im Jahr 2017 feierte ein Dokumentarfilm über Schulz' Leben Premiere. Er veröffentlichte die Single "OK" mit James Blunt und sein drittes Studioalbum "Uncovered". In den Jahren danach folgten diverse Singleveröffentlichungen und 2021 sein viertes Studioalbum "IIII". 2023 erschien das fünfte Studioalbum "Pink".
