This is a video still of Pete Seeger and William Waterway.
This video still was taken during the Hudson River Sloop Restoration's annual meeting in Beacon, New York - which is located near Peter Seeger's home.
After the HRSR meeting, a group of musicians gathered in a circle in a grass yard and began playing an impromptu jam with Pete.
Just prior to the jam - William Waterway set up his video camera on a tripod and videotaped the activity - this video still shows William Waterway playing Native American Flute while Pete Seeger plays his famous banjo.
Pete Seeger
For over 30 years Pete Seeger had
the original pumpkin festival in
Beacon. The site of this pumpkin
festival is the same place that was
once a city dump and he was
instrumental in turning it into a park
that is now named after him and
his wife Toshi.
On Oct 13, 2013, at the last pumpkin festival that Pete hosted before he died.
and at the end of
the day when most everyone
had left and others cleaning up, Pete strolled down by the river and looked out and smiled almost as if he knew this was his last pumpkin festival ....
(and I'm sure he was also
missing his wife Toshi ...)
Pete accomplished what he
wanted ...the spot he was
gazing out is now a river park ,
(Since named after them) and the river is cleaner and much more appreciated.
