James Neil Hamilton, geboren am 9. September 1899 in Lynn, Massachusetts, war ein US-amerikanischer Schauspieler. Zunächst als Model tätig, fand er den Weg zur Schauspielerei und erhielt 1918 seine erste Filmrolle. Sein Durchbruch gelang ihm 1923 mit "The White Rose" unter der Regie von D. W. Griffith. Im folgenden Jahr spielte er die Hauptrolle in Griffiths Sozialdrama "Ist das Leben nicht wunderschön?", das die Lebensbedingungen in Deutschland der 1920er-Jahre thematisierte. In den 1920er-Jahren war Hamilton einer der beliebtesten Hauptdarsteller bei Paramount Pictures. Er machte erfolgreich den Übergang zum Tonfilm und spielte unter anderem in Filmen wie "Laughing Sinners" und "What Price Hollywood?". Besonders bekannt wurde er in den ersten beiden "Tarzan"-Filmen als Harry Holt, der jedoch am Ende des zweiten Films stirbt. In den 1960er-Jahren gewann Hamilton als Commissioner James Gordon in der TV-Serie "Batman" neue Popularität. Seine letzte Rolle spielte Hamilton 1971 in einem Fernsehfilm. Er starb am 24. September 1984 im Alter von 85 Jahren an den Folgen einer Asthma-Erkrankung. Seit 1922 war er mit Elsa Cozetta Whitmer verheiratet.

There were no listings in artwork for Paramount, Lasky, Famous Players or Morgan Litho Co (printed the poster). Theres no evidence of continuing copyright for the film or material related to it. I am aware that Getty Images offers a copy of the original poster. This is a copy of the original and has had the Paramount Pictures logo and lettering, the Morgan Litho Company logo and the fine print on lower border (which often lists copyright information) removed.
