Max Herre ist ein deutscher Rapper, Singer-Songwriter und Musikproduzent, der am 22. April 1973 in Stuttgart geboren wurde. In seiner Heimatstadt wuchs er auf und beschreibt sich selbst als eher unmotivierten Schüler, der das Abitur aber schließlich am Schickhardt-Gymnasium erlangte. Nach dem Zivildienst begann er ein Studium in Englisch und Deutsch, welches er jedoch nach nur einem Tag für seine Musik aufgab. Schon in seiner Schulzeit kam Herre mit US-amerikanischem Hip-Hop in Berührung. Nachdem er Advanced Chemistry gehört hatte, beschloss er, selbst auf Deutsch zu rappen. Mit 15 gründete er seine erste Band, Seedless Jam. Vier Jahre später folgte mit dem Produzenten Philippe A. Kayser, besser bekannt als Don Philippe, das Hip-Hop-Projekt Agit Jazz. Um live spielen zu können, gründeten sie 1993 zusammen mit DJ Friction die Band Maximilian und sein Freundeskreis. Im selben Jahr rief Max Herre mit anderen Stuttgarter Künstlern die Kolchose ins Leben. Freundeskreis unterschrieb 1997 bei Four Music, dem Label der Fantastischen Vier. Mit dem Song "A-N-N-A" gelang der Durchbruch, das Debütalbum "Die Quadratur des Kreises" verkaufte sich ebenfalls sehr gut. Das zweite Album "Esperanto" aus dem Jahr 1999 war noch erfolgreicher. Im selben Jahr entstand das Livealbum "En Directo" mit den FK Allstars. Nach einigen Abschiedskonzerten im Jahr 2000 kehrte Freundeskreis 2007 für Festivalauftritte zurück. Herre entwickelte das Konzept der FK Allstars, einem Zusammenschluss verschiedener Künstler. Nach einer Tour verließ er die Band. Nach der Geburt seines ersten Sohnes zog sich Herre aus der Öffentlichkeit zurück und produzierte das Debütalbum seiner Frau Joy Denalane, "Mamani". Im Jahr 2004 veröffentlichte Max Herre sein erstes Soloalbum, das seinen Namen trug. Gemeinsam mit Joy Denalane gründete er 2006 das Label Nesola. Es folgten weitere Alben, darunter "Hallo Welt!" im Jahr 2012, welches mit der Single "Wolke 7" seinen ersten Top-10-Hit hervorbrachte. 2013 war er Coach bei "The Voice of Germany". Als dritter deutscher Hip-Hop-Act veröffentlichte Herre ein MTV-Unplugged-Album, für das er einen Echo erhielt. Nach einer längeren Pause erschien 2019 sein Album "Athen". Max Herre arbeitete auch mit der Gruppe Web Web zusammen und veröffentlichte mit ihnen mehrere Alben.
