Manfred von Richthofen war ein deutscher Jagdflieger. Er wurde am 2. Mai 1892 in Breslau, Polen, geboren und verstarb am 21. April 1918 im Alter von 25 Jahren in Vaux-sur-Somme, Frankreich.

Durante la primavera y con la llegada de las festividades tradicionales se colocaron diversos adornos en la Plaza del Entrevero, Montevideo, que durante la noche se iluminan produciendo un bonito efecto. Se mezclan el barón rojo con los Reyes Magos, una caminata espacial con peces payaso, grandes setas con caballitos de mar, árboles con luces de Navidad junto a coloridos flamencos... y en el centro, dominando la plaza, el Monumento al Entrevero, cuyos chorros se encienden por la noche. Al frente, parejas mayores se reúnen a bailar tango los sábados por la noche bajo el gran árbol de Navidad ubicado sobre la Avenida 18 de Julio, la principal calle de Uruguay.
Memorial on the site of the former grave of Manfred von Richthofen on Invalidenfriedhof cemetery in Berlin. The inscription reads: "This was the location of the grave of the Royal Prussian Cavalry Captain and WWI fighter pilot Manfred Baron von Richthofen - 'The Red Baron' - 1892-1918 - His mortal remains were transferred to the Südfriedhof cemetery in Wiesbaden in 1975". The memorial stone was dedicated in 2009.

The remains of Baron von Richthofen's Fokker Dr.I triplane at the aerodrome of No. 3 Squadron of the Australian Flying Corps at Bertangles, Somme, Picardie (France). The famous German airman was shot down and crashed in Australian lines while flying a Dr.I triplane very near the ground on the tail of a British scout. Only one bullet - believed at that time to be from a Lewis gun attached to a Battery of Australian Field Artillery - was found in his body, and that through the heart. It was a dramatic event. Note white fabric on rudder. Left to right: Lieutenant (Lt) C. W. Gray, observer; Lt F. J. Mart, observer; Lt N. Mulroney, pilot; Lt O. G. Witcomb, observer; Lt T. L.
