Ludacris ist ein US-amerikanischer Rapper und Schauspieler, der am 11. September 1977 in Champaign, Illinois geboren wurde. Seine musikalische Laufbahn begann 1998 mit einem Gastauftritt bei einer Produktion von Timbaland. Im Jahr 2000 veröffentlichte er sein erstes Album "Incognegro" auf dem Independent-Label Disturbing tha Peace. Um die Produktion seines ersten Albums zu finanzieren, arbeitete Ludacris bei einem Hip-Hop-Radiosender. Der Erfolg von "Incognegro" führte zu einem Vertrag mit Def Jam, die das Album unter dem Titel "Back for the First Time" neu auflegten und mit zusätzlichen Stücken versahen. Sein darauffolgendes Album "Word of Mouf" erreichte 2001 den dritten Platz der Billboard-Charts. Seinen Künstlernamen wählte Christopher Brian Bridges in Anlehnung an das englische Wort "ludicrous". Ludacris trug zur Weiterentwicklung des Dirty South Hip-Hop bei, unter anderem mit der Single "What’s Your Fantasy". Im Jahr 2004 landete er mit dem Song "Yeah!", einer Kollaboration mit Usher und Lil Jon, einen internationalen Hit. 2007 war Ludacris Gast bei einem Konzert von Prince. Neben seiner Musikkarriere verfolgte Ludacris ab 2001 auch eine Karriere als Schauspieler. Seine erste große Rolle hatte er in "2 Fast 2 Furious". Es folgten weitere Rollen in Filmen wie "L.A. Crash", "Max Payne", "Gamer" und den "Fast & Furious"-Filmen. Im August 2010 kündigte Ludacris die Arbeit an seinem neunten Album "Ludaversal" an, das ursprünglich im September 2012 erscheinen sollte. Die Veröffentlichung verzögerte sich jedoch und das Album erschien schließlich 2015. Ludacris trat 2008 in Stuttgart und 2009 in Frauenfeld auf.
