Kai Wingenfelder ist ein deutscher Musiker und Sänger und Songschreiber, der am 26. November 1959 in Hamburg geboren wurde. In Hannover formte er 1987 zusammen mit seinem Bruder Thorsten und weiteren Musikern die Rockband Fury in the Slaughterhouse. Wingenfelder war maßgeblich für viele Songtexte und Kompositionen der Band verantwortlich und übernahm oft den Gesang. Während einer Pause von Fury in the Slaughterhouse im Jahr 1996, veröffentlichte er mit seinem Bruder, Christian Pegel und Produzent Jens Krause unter dem Namen Little Red Riding Hood ein Album. Wingenfelder engagierte sich auch in der Musikproduktion für andere Künstler und Bands, unter anderem für die Rockband Anger 77. Zusammen mit Oliver Sroweleit betrieb er das Goldgrube Studio, in dem Fury in the Slaughterhouse ab 2003 ihre Alben aufnahm. Seit 2004 führt Wingenfelder mit seiner Frau das Plattenlabel Burrofeliz. Neben seiner musikalischen Karriere war Wingenfelder auch als Gastdozent an der Fachhochschule für Mediengestaltung in Kiel tätig. Er initiierte das Fundraising-Projekt "Home" für Tsunami-Waisenkinder in Thailand und produzierte 2007 sein Soloalbum "Alone". Seit 2007 ist Wingenfelder Pate an der Musischen Akademie Braunschweig und Jurymitglied bei Jugend musiziert. Von 2009 bis 2010 moderierte er die ClassicLounge bei Radio Bremen. Im Jahr 2010 gründete Kai Wingenfelder zusammen mit seinem Bruder Thorsten das Duo Wingenfelder. Ihr erstes Album "Besser zu zweit" erschien 2011. Später produzierten sie unter dem Namen "Wingenfelder" das Album "Selbstauslöser". Wingenfelder besitzt außerdem eine Filmproduktionsfirma und war von 2008 bis 2010 künstlerischer Leiter bei Beluga Shipping GmbH. 2012 veröffentlichte er mit radio ffn ein Weihnachtslied für krebskranke Kinder. 2015 produzierte Kai Wingenfelder unter dem Namen Baltic Sea Child ein Irish-Folk-Album. Im selben Jahr veröffentlichte er mit seinem Bruder Thorsten das dritte Wingenfelder-Album "Retro". 2017 feierte Fury in the Slaughterhouse ihr 30-jähriges Jubiläum mit Konzerten und neuen Alben. 2018 erschien das vierte Wingenfelder-Studioalbum "Sieben Himmel hoch". 2021 veröffentlichten Fury in the Slaughterhouse das Album "Now", gefolgt von "Hope" im Jahr 2023, welches das erste Nummer-Eins-Album der Band wurde.
