Joris ist ein Popsänger und Songwriter, der am 1. Dezember 1989 in Brinkum (Stuhr) geboren wurde. Seine musikalische Reise begann schon in jungen Jahren, als er mit fünf Jahren anfing, Musik zu machen und bald darauf seine ersten eigenen Lieder schrieb. Aufgewachsen ist Buchholz im ostwestfälischen Vlotho. Dort sammelte er erste musikalische Erfahrungen als Schlagzeuger in einer Musikschulband. Später gründete er seine erste Band namens The Seastream, in der er als Gitarrist, Pianist und Sänger aktiv war. Sein Onkel unterstützte ihn dabei und gab ihm Klavierunterricht. Nach dem Abitur studierte Joris kurzzeitig Ton- und Musikproduktion in Berlin, bevor er an die Popakademie Baden-Württemberg in Mannheim wechselte, wo er seine Bandkollegen kennenlernte. Seine Karriere nahm Fahrt auf, als er 2012 mit seiner Indie-Pop-Band Oakfield die EP "Sparks" veröffentlichte. 2014 ging Joris erstmals auf Deutschland-Tournee und erhielt einen Plattenvertrag bei Four Music. Ende 2014 erschien sein erster Song "Im Schneckenhaus". Der Durchbruch gelang ihm 2015 mit der Single "Herz über Kopf", die sich über 610.000 Mal verkaufte. Sein Debütalbum "Hoffnungslos Hoffnungsvoll" erreichte Platz drei der deutschen Charts und wurde von den Medien positiv aufgenommen. In den folgenden Jahren veröffentlichte Joris weitere Alben wie "Schrei es raus" (2018) und "Willkommen Goodbye" (2021). Neben seiner Musikkarriere engagiert sich Joris auch politisch. Er setzt sich auf seinen Konzerten für Demokratie und gegen Rechtsextremismus ein und beteiligte sich an verschiedenen Benefizveranstaltungen. Im Fernsehen war Joris unter anderem bei "Sing meinen Song – Das Tauschkonzert" und "The Masked Singer" zu sehen, wo er als Pirat den zweiten Platz belegte. Im Februar 2025 veröffentlichte Joris sein viertes Studioalbum "Zu viel Retro" und ging damit auf Tour.
