Johnny Knoxville ist ein Schauspieler, Filmproduzent und Stuntman, der am 11. März 1971 in Knoxville, Tennessee, geboren wurde. Bekannt wurde er vor allem durch die Reality-Comedy-Serie "Jackass" und die dazugehörigen Filme. Seine Karriere begann mit "Jackass", einer MTV-Serie, die von 2000 bis 2002 ausgestrahlt wurde. In der Sendung führten Knoxville und seine Kollegen waghalsige Stunts vor. Er war auch in einigen Episoden von "Wildboyz" und "Viva La Bam" zu sehen und hatte Gastauftritte in "Nitro Circus". Im Jahr 2009 sorgte Knoxville für Aufsehen, als er mit einer Granate im Gepäck am Flughafen von Los Angeles festgenommen wurde. Es stellte sich aber heraus, dass es sich um eine Requisite handelte. Im selben Jahr erlitt er bei einem Stunt für "Nitro Circus" einen Riss der Harnröhre, wie er in der Howard Stern Show erzählte. 2014 äußerte sich Knoxville in einem Interview mit dem Rolling Stone über seine schauspielerischen Fähigkeiten und kündigte an, Schauspielunterricht nehmen zu wollen. Knoxville trennte sich 2006 von seiner Frau Melanie Lynn Clapp, mit der er eine Tochter hat; die Scheidung erfolgte 2009. Er hat einen Sohn mit Naomi Nelson, der im Dezember 2009 geboren wurde. Die beiden heirateten im September 2010 und bekamen 2011 eine weitere Tochter. Knoxville ist seitdem weiterhin als Schauspieler und Stuntman tätig.
