Die als Edith Zuser im österreichischen St. Pölten geborene Sängerin Lolita hatte 1957 mit "Der weiße Mond von Maratonga" ihren ersten großen Hit. Drei Jahre später veröffentlichte sie den Evergreen "Seemann (deine Heimat ist das Meer)". Der mit einer Goldenen Schallplatte ausgezeichnete Titel erreichte in Deutschland Platz 2 der Charts und war auch international sehr erfolgreich. Später war Lolita auch als Fernsehmoderatorin tätig, so moderierte sie ab 1967 die Show "Im Krug zum grünen Kranze" oder später die ZDF-Sendung "Lustige Musikanten".
