Alice Florence Clarissa Merton, geboren am 13. September 1993 in Frankfurt, ist eine deutsche Popmusikerin mit irischen und deutschen Wurzeln. Ihre Kindheit verbrachte sie in Kanada und England, bevor sie nach Deutschland zurückkehrte und an der Popakademie Baden-Württemberg Musik studierte. Merton erlangte 2016 mit ihrer Single „No Roots“ große Bekanntheit, die in mehreren Ländern hohe Chartplatzierungen erreichte und in Deutschland dreifach Gold ging. 2017 gründete Merton ihr eigenes Label, Paper Plane Records, und veröffentlichte weitere Singles wie „Hit the Ground Running“ und „Lash Out“. Ihr Debütalbum „Mint“ erschien 2019 und erreichte Platz 2 in den deutschen Charts. Im selben Jahr wurde sie Jurorin bei „The Voice of Germany“ und gewann mit ihrer Schülerin Claudia Emmanuela Santoso. 2021 veröffentlichte Merton die Singles „Vertigo“, „Hero“ und „Island“ aus ihrem zweiten Album „S.I.D.E.S.“, das sie 2022 auf einer Europa-Tour präsentierte. 2023 und 2024 folgten weitere Singles und eine erfolgreiche US-Tournee. 2025 verklagte sie Kanye West wegen der unautorisierten Nutzung ihrer Musik in einem seiner Lieder.
