Stacy Keach ist ein US-amerikanischer Schauspieler und Sprecher, der am 2. Juni 1941 in Savannah, Georgia, geboren wurde. Um ihn von seinem Vater Stacy Keach Sr., ebenfalls Schauspieler, zu unterscheiden, wurde er zunächst Stacy Keach, Jr. genannt. Nach seinem Abschluss an der Van Nuys High School im Jahr 1959 studierte Keach an der University of California, Berkeley, bevor er an die Yale University’s School of Drama wechselte und als Fulbright Student an der London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art studierte. 1969 gab er sein Broadway-Debüt als Buffalo Bill in Arthur Kopits "Indianer". Im Laufe seiner Karriere erhielt er mehrere Auszeichnungen, darunter Obies, Drama Desk Awards und Vernon Rice Awards. Von 1984 bis 1987 verkörperte er den Privatdetektiv Mike Hammer in der gleichnamigen CBS-Fernsehserie. 1987 erlangte Keach besondere Anerkennung für seine Darstellung des Ernest Hemingway in der internationalen Fernsehproduktion "Hemingway" unter der Regie von Bernhard Sinkel, wofür er mit dem Golden Globe als bester Hauptdarsteller ausgezeichnet wurde. Einem breiten Fernsehpublikum wurde er auch als Sprecher von "Nova", "National Geographic" und anderen populärwissenschaftlichen Sendungen bekannt. Er spielte außerdem Ken Titus in der Serie "Titus", Barabbas in "Jesus von Nazareth" und Cameron Alexander in "American History X" und war ebenfalls in der Fernsehserie "Prison Break" zu sehen. Keach, der selbst mit einer Lippenspalte geboren wurde, engagiert sich als Ehrenvorsitzender der Cleft Palate Foundation. Stacy Keach heiratete dreimal: 1975 Marilyn Aiken, 1981 Jill Donahue und um 1986 Malgosia Tomassi, die in der Serie "Mike Hammer, Private Eye" seine Yoga-Nachbarin spielte. Aus zweiter Ehe stammen zwei Töchter, aus dritter Ehe zwei weitere Kinder. Im Jahr 2015 erhielt Keach die polnische Staatsbürgerschaft. Sein Bruder James Keach ist ebenfalls im Filmgeschäft tätig, unter anderem als Regisseur und Schauspieler.
