Pat Metheny (* 12. August 1954 in Lee’s Summit, Missouri; als Patrick Bruce Metheny, məˈθiːni) ist ein US-amerikanischer Jazzgitarrist. Als Solokünstler, Leiter diverser eigener Formationen und Gastmusiker etablierte er sich seit Mitte der 1970er Jahre als einer der einflussreichsten und erfolgreichsten Jazzmusiker der Welt. Stilbildend wurde neben seinem eigenen Spiel auch seine Arbeit mit der Pat Metheny Group, mit der ihm ein eigenständiger Ensembleklang gelang.
