Julianne Hough ist eine amerikanische Schauspielerin, Sängerin und Tanzsportlerin, die am 20. Juli 1988 in Salt Lake City, Utah, geboren wurde. Hough wuchs mit vier älteren Geschwistern in einer Mormonenfamilie auf, bis sich ihre Eltern trennten, als sie etwa zehn Jahre alt war. Gemeinsam mit ihrem Bruder Derek erhielt sie in London eine Ausbildung in Tanz, Gesang und Schauspielerei. Nach ihrer Ausbildung kehrte Hough in die USA zurück und besuchte kurzzeitig die Las Vegas Academy, bevor sie wieder zu ihrem Vater nach Utah zog und die Alta High School abschloss. Im Anschluss zog sie nach Los Angeles, um ihre Karriere zu verfolgen. Ihre Karriere begann mit einer nicht im Abspann erwähnten Rolle in "Harry Potter und der Stein der Weisen" im Jahr 2001. Nach ihrer Rückkehr in die USA gewann Hough 2008 die Tanzshow "Dancing with the Stars". Im selben Jahr startete sie auch ihre Gesangskarriere und ihr Debütalbum erreichte Platz 1 der Country-Charts. 2009 wurde sie als „Beste neue Sängerin“ und „Beste neue Künstlerin“ der Academy of Country ausgezeichnet. Danach trat sie im Vorprogramm von Brad Paisley und mit George Strait auf. Später war Hough in Filmen wie "Burlesque" (2010), "Footloose" (2011) und "Rock of Ages" (2012) zu sehen. Sie veröffentlichte auch mehrere Singles und DVDs. Hough war von 2017 bis 2020 mit dem kanadischen Eishockey-Spieler Brooks Laich verheiratet. Hough hat in zahlreichen Filmen und Fernsehserien mitgewirkt und ihre musikalischen Talente unter Beweis gestellt.
