Howard Carter, geboren am 9. Mai 1874 in London, England und verstorben am 2. März 1939 in London, Großbritannien war ein britischer Ägyptologe, der 1922 im Tal der Könige in West-Theben das bislang einzige, nahezu intakte Pharaonengrab (KV62), das des Tutanchamun, entdeckte.
